On March 23 and 24, 2017, a workshop on Child Protection Systems (CPS) was conducted by Plan International with 38 (12 female) participants who are members of the FCF’s four Thematic Subgroups (TSGs). Following the workshop, the TSG members were able to understand the system of a child protection approach and agreed on the current status of such a system in Cambodia. The presentation was enriched by specialists and experts from UNICEF, Child Frontiers, Save the Children and Friends International.
As a result, a CPS analysis was developed by participants in different fields of work. The key contents of the discussions included a basic legal overview, policies, resources, service provision, law enforcement, evidence and data collection, regional and international engagement and actors involved in child protection. The information and experience shared in the workshop will help TSG members to prepare their work plan to achieve a common vision of CPS approach and how to work together to influence the Government and development donors in supporting such a system.
